Background
Age is calculated by counting whole years, then whole months, then remaining days between the two dates. When the birth day is later in the month than the target day, a month is borrowed.
Leap-day birthdays are handled by the calendar, so on non-leap years the birthday is celebrated on 28 February or 1 March depending on local law. The zodiac sections are cultural traditions presented for interest, not scientific claims.
Common mistakes
- Subtracting only the years, which is wrong before the birthday has passed this year.
- Entering dates in day/month order when the field expects month/day. Use the date picker.
